Fairground Attraction
Looking through the websites of the Fairground Heritage Trust and the National Fairground Archive at the University of Sheffield, I remember how when I was at art college I was really into collecting images of fairgrounds and fairground rides for my sketchbook. It fitted in with my love of seaside amusements - and of course the two often go hand-in-hand. Bright colours, gleaming gilt, flashing lights, pink candyfloss and psychedelic artwork - what's not to love?
