Highly tickled last night to find, whilst watching old episodes oF John Peel's Sounds of the Suburbs, a clip of Ash performing 'Goldfinger' on Richard & Judy's This Morning. Tickled especially because the lads have turned the compulsory miming to their advantage, and have bass player Mark Hamilton miming to singer Tim's voice... :)
In other news, I have just bought the wonderful Monsoon Wedding, which I am so looking forward to seeing again - so much colour and pattern and music! To tide me over I have just changed my desktop wallpaper to deep pink rose petals, with orange icons. And now I'm off to Glasgow for the weekend - ta ta!

Baby love...
A *10lb 1oz* baby girl arrived at around 6.20pm yesterday at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, after a good 14hrs hard work from the stoic and very lovely Rachel. Mum and baby (no name yet) are doing well, and Dad is incredibly proud and happy - muttering 'I've got a daughter...she's really beautiful...', over and over, besottedly.

'Tank, fly, boss, walk, jam, nitty-gritty / You're listening to the boys from the big bad city / This is jam hot / This is jam hot...'
I'm much too young to be feeling quite so nostalgic at hearing a song which was out when I was about fifteen...but it was so good to hear it, and it's such a beautiful day. And my friend has just gone into labour. Watch this space. 'Push, Mrs. Mattinson, push!!!'

Got a mail from over the Pond, from another girl who appreciates her buses.
At the moment she's asking fellow bloggers to answer the following:
1. How often do you do laundry?
Weekly? There's only me! Plenty of knickers and socks mean less daft half-loads. Hey, fancy sorting some socks?
2. What's in a typical wash load?
Everything. All in together, tops, bottoms, towels, bedding, undies. 40 degree non-colourfast cottons. Bizarre wash.
3. Front or top loader? Powder or liquid detergent?
Front loader. Do anyone in Britain HAVE a top loader?! I've never seen one. Powder, and cos I'm a sweet old-fashioned thing I put it in the drawer, not in a ball thing in the drum.
4. Do you use fabric softener in the rinse cycle?
Never - yet another thing my excema would just luuuuurrrrve to latch onto.
5. Dryer or clothesline?
Clothes airer, in our living room. No dryer and no garden!

Overhead in the chemist this morning: "Hello - do you have a moth spray called 'Doom'"?
